Commemorating the 35th anniversary of the municipal administration establishment as well as aiming at succession of "Hometown Neyagawa" by next generation through enhancement of citizens' attachment to local landscapes, Neyagawa City (Neyagawa-shi) and its Board of Education (Neyagawa-shi Kyoiku Iinkai) advertised for candidates to select featuring landmarks together with the photos and designated eight featuring landmarks of Neyagawa in September 1986.
Neyagawa City, a peaceful garden city blessed with rich water of Yodogawa River
and nature of the Mt. Ikoma chain in the past, has been transformed to play
an important part of the Osaka area along with its fulfillment of urban infrastructure
as a lively and thriving city with 250,000 residents.
The eight featuring landmarks were designated in the hope of enhancing citizens'
consciousness to cherish "Hometown Neyagawa" and hand down the natural
beauty to posterity.
