Neyagawa Municipal Social Welfare Council
(Neyagawa-shi Shakai Fukushi Kyogikai), a non-governmental welfare organization
mainly consisting of citizens, is engaged in various projects and activities
aiming for realizing "livable" town for everyone through enhancing local welfare.
There are a wide range of welfare activities promoted such
as local welfare promotion led by Welfare Committee of each school ward,
counseling on welfare, volunteer projects arrangement of the nursing care planning
and dispatch of home nursing approved by the qualified at-home nursing care organizations
and service organizations.
To support the elderly and the disabled, the Social Welfare Council promotes a wide range of local welfare activities, including preparing care plans, dispatching home attendants, counseling for those with impaired judgment due to dementia or mental diseases, and supporting independence in daily life through financial management support.
Organized in each elementary school ward (23 groups in 24 wards) as in-house units of Social Welfare Council to promote local welfare activities.

| Responds to various welfare consultation for better solution and improvement. |
| (2) Volunteer Center Project (Volunteer Center Jigyo) |
| Various volunteer-related projects such as supply and demand adjustment of volunteer activities by coordinators (Mon., Wed., Fri.), volunteer training course, workshop, coordination and cultivation of volunteer group of each school ward, coordination of registered volunteer group, and reception of volunteer insurance. |
| (3) Transportation Service Project (Iso Service Jigyo) |
| Volunteer staffs are engaged in transportation support for the elderly or the handicapped, who have difficulty in going out to hospitals or some other places, by welfare vehicles equipped with lift for wheelchairs. |
| (4) Transportation and Escorting Service Project for the Elderly (Koreisha Gaishutsu Enjo Service Jigyo) |
| Volunteer staffs, from each community center organized by each local area, are engaged in transportation support and escort for the elderly, who have difficulty in going out to hospitals or some other places, by light vehicles equipped with lift. |
| (5) Wheel Chair Lending Project (Kuruma-isu Kashidashi Jigyo) |
| Wheel chair lending service is available to citizens in need of care at home (except hospitalized or staying in the facilities) and needing wheelchairs temporarily. (not eligible if certified as to be level 2 in need of care under the nursing care insurance system.) |
| (6) Support and Development of Self-help Groups Project (Tojisha Soshiki no Enjo/Ikusei) |
| Support and development of the operation of self-help groups consisting of people living alone or of families taking care of the elderly and so on. |
| (7) Membership Recruitment (Kaiin Boshu) |
| The membership application of the council is accepted from Feb. to Mar. each year with the cooperation of each local resident's association for the purpose of enhancing the understanding of projects and activities of the council as well as receiving financial support. |

| This support project is for the citizens who are incapacitated due to intellectual handicap, senile dementia, mental disorder to offer support service of welfare and daily financial management service. |
